In this post, I’m going to talk about how to promote your website by giving away ebooks for free.
That is one of the best and easiest ways to increase your reach, especially if you are just starting a blog. It is such a simple idea and lots of people don’t take advantage of it.
It is also one of the easiest ways to promote your website. The eBooks are all about building trust and trust is a vital piece of conversions.
I’ve stumbled upon this technique about 7 years ago. I’ve written an eBook myself and I gave it to anyone who wanted it. I shared it on forums and Facebook groups which I’ve joined. The concept was just to share with people what I’ve learned.
I was pleasantly surprised because at the end over 10,000 people downloaded my eBook. Forums and Facebook groups are great for getting your ebook in front of your targeted audience.
You can share your eBook in lots of places without any issues and you will find success if you do the following:
Your eBook Has To Offer Real Value To Readers
Remember, if you are not offering real value it will not be shared by others. Don’t just mix something that has been shared already a couple of hundred times. Don’t do that.
Instead, take your time and create good content that has real value and can help the reader to make money, improve their life, achieve their goals, or something else that is important to them.
Make Your Content Easy To Understand
If an average person doesn’t understand what you are writing about, then you are offering no value to them. The average level of reading understanding in the US is about 8th-grade level so you need to keep that in mind.
Also, lots of people that will get your ebook does not have English as their primary language and there is another reason to keep it simple. Write to that audience, don’t use hard words, don’t use real technical terms and don’t use large paragraphs.
Keep It Short
People just do not read too long things these days and it won’t get you planned results. Don’t do more than 6 pages as it starts to become inefficient and does not get read.
A 5 or 6 page or so eBook is a good size, it can be read in a short time and can cover enough questions to give you credibility and to give your reader a reason to go to your site. Make it easy to read with a pleasant experience and it will do the job.
Make Sure To Add Great Images
You need good images in your eBook and you need a great cover as well. The cover is really important because of the first impression. A good cover will make a person read your content and good content will make that person go to your site.
Free images work really well but you can use Canva or any other image editor to make it a bit unique.
Don’t Forget To Add a Call To Action
Without it, you are only sharing free knowledge, and this is a money-making project so you need that call to action. Just put a link to your website or the website you are promoting in the header and the footer.
That is all I do when it comes to a CTA and it looks natural and was pretty successful for driving traffic to my website.
I don’t prefer putting affiliate links in my eBooks, but you can. I believe it’s better to send everyone to your website so you can sell them there.
The eBook is a type of funnel, a presell that warms them up to your idea. You have something that can increase value on your website and give your audience the feeling that spending money on your website makes sense because there is quality content in the ebook and on the website.
What do you think about this technique? Are you going to try it yourself? Tell me about it in the comments below, I’ll read and answer all of them.
