Here I’m going to share with you what I found to be the top 6 digital marketing books that I’ve come across in the last couple of years. These books can be really valuable for your online adventure. Links can be found at the end of the post.
Marketing book number one is DotCom Secrets by Russell Brunson and this is a must-read if you’re in internet marketing. It’s just packed full of value and one of the three key takeaways that I got from DotCom secrets was how to create a funnel of value. It makes you think about what kind of products can you offer to your clients to take them through this funnel of value.
The second thing that I really liked about this book was that it tells you how to communicate with people via email, how to tell stories the right way, and how to get people to want to read your next email. The stuff that you’ll learn from this book can be implemented with any type of marketing. It gives you full email scripts on how to send emails and you can just tailor that to whatever is that you’re offering.
The last thing that I really like about this book is that it teaches how do you create an attractive character. Attractive in the sense that you can create a personal brand where people trust you, like you, and want to buy for you.
Number two in marketing books is by the same author Russell Brunson. Expert Secrets is a book that is going to teach you how to become an expert within a given niche. The great thing is that it teaches you how to become an expert in a new niche that you can create on your own. It makes you think how can you go deeper into a certain niche and create a sub-niche which is brand new.
The next thing that I really liked about this is that it goes deeper into how to create an attractive character and how to have a mass following of people who believe in you. One of the most important things that I got from this book was that when you’re trying to sell something online you want to try to explain it like you’re explaining it to a baby.
Number three in marketing books is Launch by Jeff Walker. This guy’s been around in the internet marketing game for a very long time and I think this one’s a best seller. One of the biggest things that I learned from Launch was the importance of having an email list.
Not just having a list for the sake of having, but to have a list that is fully engaged in what you’re talking with them. You can have a list of a hundred thousand people but if no one is engaging with you and reading your emails then what’s the point?
This book basically shows you how to build that relationship with those people and make money from your list. But this book is all about launching your product and how to create an insane amount of hype before your product is launched, and what you need to do on the day that your product is launched.
This book also has a great section on joint ventures. The joint venture is when you partner up with someone and you work together to sell a product or a service.
Confessions of an Advertising Man
Book number four is Confessions of an Advertising Man by David Ogilvy. This is the older book which gives you the fundamental knowledge on how to get clients, how to keep them and what makes a good advertising campaign. It gives you a good fundamental understanding of what makes a good ad.
Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook
The title number five is a book that I wanted to put it in this list in case some of you guys have missed out on it. It’s Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook by Gary Vaynerchuk. You might have heard of it but if you haven’t you have to read this book because it’s going to explain to you the key differences between all the different social media platforms.
It will teach you how exactly you need to be posting, the type of copy you should be writing, the type of images you should be using, the type of call to actions you should have on these particular social media platforms. There are many examples in there that are going to tell you what you need to be posting on social media.
The Ask Method
Number six in marketing books is The Ask Method by Ryan Levesque. The Ask Method teaches you a unique way of immediately increasing your website conversions and sales. It can teach you how to think across all aspects of marketing and product development so that you offer exactly what the different segments of your target market actually want. All of this is done through a completely automated process that does not require one-on-one conversations with every single customer.
